3.1 Main Configuration Window

Main Cloud Configuration Window.

The cloud configuratin window (select “Configuration” tab in Cloud Interface window ) presents the options for setting up your render farm.

Setup your render farm configuration as follows:

  • Render Farm Website: Web URL of render farmm website.

  • Configure Branding: Setup your own custom branding (logos, splashsceen and background image of cloud user interface (CUI))

  • Render Farm Support Page: Web URL of your main support page. If provided, the cloud user interface exposes a support button on the main screen.

  • Render Farm Connect URL: WAN TCP/IP port that the CUI connects to. The default port is 17393 and must be openedd (ie; port-forwarded) on your site’s router.

  • Cloud Storage Folder: The main storage repository for all cloud-submitted jobs. Must be a network path to a location on your storage server.

On Windows master nodes, the Cloud Storage Folder MUST be a UNC path (example: \\NETWORK_STORAGE_SERVER\SquidnetCloud).

DO NOT USE a Windows Mapped Drive path (example: X:\SquidnetCloud) for the Cloud Storage folder. This is because render nodes do not have access to locally-mounted mapped drives when rendering network jobs.

  • Jobs Folder: Optional storage location for user project content only.

  • Archive Folder: Optional storage location of user archived images.

  • Windows Download URL: Web URL used by CUI to automatically download new CUI updates on Windows workstations.

  • Mac OS Download URL: Web URL used by CUI to automatically download new CUI updates on Mac OS workstations.

  • Linux Download URL: Web URL used by CUI to automatically download new CUI updates on Linux workstations.

  • Admin Email Notification List: List of render farm administrator email address that receive notification emails (nightly, job completion reports, etc…)

  • Job History Rentention: The amount of time that job history data will be retained in SQL database.

  • Web Interface: Your render farm’s web interface settings.

  • Job Render Settings: Global settings that apply to all cloud submitted jobs.

  • Project/Image Transfer Settngs: Performance settings for SquidNet’s proprietary project and image transfer protocol.

  • Custom Email: Setup custom user email notifications (new user registation, first login, render credit expiration).

  • In-App Plugin Manager: Configure the automatic update of custom CUI in-application plugins.

When the “Apply” button is pressed, the SquidNet server will automatically attempt to connect to the <url>::17393 WAN port. If the connection fails, check the status of your router’s port settings. Try using the Port Forwarding tester website to verify that internet messages received on port 17393 are correctly being routed to your SquidNet master host.
