4 Local Job Templates

SquidNet provides an interface for submitting jobs from the main GUI interface or from a command line shell. Submitting jobs is just a matter of knowing the available options for a specific application.

For command line jobs, Use the “sqn –templateShow all” command to list applications that are supported.

List supported command line applications:

sqn --templateShow all

To list the options for a specific application, just specify the application name:

sqn --templateShow maya

You can find the “sqn” executeable in the SquidNet installation folder.

4.3.1 After Effect Scene Preparation

Prepare your AE scenes for distributed rendering as follows:

  1. In After Effects, create/edit Output Module:

    • Specify image sequence format
    • Select “Video Output”
    • Select “Use Comp Frame Number”
    • Set image frame resolution settings.

  1. Create SquidNet AE job with settings from scene file by specifying the following:

    • Scene file path.
    • Starting and ending frames in scene animation.
    • Specify output image path and format (ex: //…/…/…/my_image_[####].png).
    • Specify composition name.

4.3.2 After Effect Scene Troubleshooting

After Effects Command Line Troubleshooting:

To resolve AE rendering issues, try rendering your scene outside of SquidNet using AE's aerender command line renderer:
